Bag It
Instead of buying wrapping paper, I put presents in a re-useable shopping bags. There are many different colours and patterns to choose from. Tie a pretty ribbon on top and you're all set.
Advantages:
* environmently friendly
* wrapping does not end up in the bin
* re-useable
* cheap (prices start at $1)
* looks fantastic…

Before It's Eaten
So, you've created (or purchased) a BEAUTIFUL cake and in a matter of seconds, it's been decimated - and that's a good thing; however, you do want to keep a memory record by photographing the uneaten cake. Try putting a few gift bags or presents behind the cake as a background like I did here.

My favourite little New Zealander put out the call for a Pig Party for his 3rd Birthday on Saturday (No pressure Ethan!)
